Marching Band Updates and Schedules- Week of 9/30

Marching Band Schedule & Updates



Fall Musical, Competitions, Prop Building, Champs Planning, Football Games, Homecoming, Halloween, and Practice, Practice, Practice.

It certainly is OMG's busy season! But our community is here to support you in any way you need! And don't forget,

"many hands make light work"

and the more we can help and support each other, the better our program will be and the easier it will be for all of us!



We are all about France this Fall with all of our programs working on France/French based shows!

Can't wait to see it all come together!

 

Our Marching Band and Color Guard Field Show is going to include some pretty amazing props this year and we need you to help build, paint, create the awesome field displays that our directors are envisioning! Are you creative or skilled at building things? If you're interested in learning more about our planning/building team, email Jennifer Stroh at omg.band.vp@gmail.com .

We will send out a painting/finishing sign up for everyone to help with soon!



Thank you to everyone who attended our OMG Meeting last Wednesday, in person or virtually! We feel like our virtual meeting was relatively successful and we're working on making improvements so it's even better next month!

    • Rubio’s dine out: Oct. 3, all day, 19035 Goldenwest St., mention HBHS Color Guard. See flyer below.

    • Pho Bulous dine out: Oct.8 to 10, all day, 200 Main St., mention HBHS Band Boosters.

    • Photography Fundraiser: Carol Larsen Photography is offering Mini Photo Sessions on November 3, 2024 at Central Park for just $275 for holiday or senior pictures.  They are 20 min sessions and include 5 digital images of your choice.  She will be donating $50 per session to Color Guard’s Dayton fund. See flyer below.

  • The school year just started, but we're already thinking about next year's OMG Board!  Being on the board is a great opportunity to get involved and help all these talented students. If you know someone who would be a good fit, or if you want to be more involved in nominations, please reach out to our Parliamentarian, Linda Farrow.  

  • Revisions of the OMG Bylaws are in the works. The Executive Board will be making necessary changes to include new Directors and to make sections more clear and concise. The revised Bylaws will be sent to ALL members and voted on at one of our Guild meetings.

Nov 23rd, California State Band Championships needs your help planning! We are looking for parents who are willing to step forward to help chair positions for our biggest fundraiser. Additional Notes for Parents and Students-

 

-The Marching Band and Color Guard have been hard at work putting together the second movement of our competitive field show! We’ve been missing a bunch of students due to illness, but hopefully everyone is feeling better this upcoming week. Again, please make sure students are communicating via slack if they are going to be missing rehearsal as soon as they know. It really helps us prepare for rehearsals. Thank you!

-Please make sure our marching band competition dates are on your schedule: Oct 12, Oct 19, Nov 2, Nov 9, Nov 16, Nov 23. These performances are extremely mandatory, any potential scheduling conflicts should be communicated as soon as possible. Thank you!!
