Additional Notes for Parents/Students-

- Monday, Nov 18th & Tuesday, Nov. 19th, 3:30-5:30pm. Do you have friends or know of an incoming 9th grader who is interested in APA? Join us at the APA Open Doors, get a tour, get information and ask all your questions.

 - With the rapid approach of Fall break, it’s hard to believe we’re only four weeks out from our holiday concert program and 5 weeks from winter break! With only four orchestra meeting days until our “Tech” week begins, we will be holding extended rehearsals over this week and the week of December 2nd to both give time for Advanced Orchestra and also to get out last couple of pieces put together for what’s coming together as a fantastic holiday program!

 - Our make-up recital date for several of our pianists is this Thursday, at approx. 5:00 p.m. We will have access to the concert piano in the auditorium, and we will be making recordings for each student. Parents are absolutely encouraged to attend if you would like!

 - Please check your calendars now about the tech rehearsals December 9-12th and our concert dates, as these are mandatory! December 9th will be Act 1 (Wind orchestra students only) and December 10th will be Act II (String orchestra and Advanced Orchestra students only).

 - Additionally, we have the OMG and HBHS-Hosted California State Band Championships coming up on the Saturday before Fall break, which is the largest fundraiser for our collective music program of the year. Specific volunteer roles will be assigned for students, but we are actively searching for any parent/family volunteers who can help with the event. This one day event raises the program between $32-$38,000, and directly funds significant opportunities for all of our students! Students will be assigned Set-up or Regular shifts based on their instrumental section.
