Our Spring Programs are up and running and we need your donations to help keep things moving. Spring donations help pay for music licensing, transportation, specialists and more! Without donations, these programs cannot function!

OMG Bylaws Update
We needed to add a few more details to our Bylaws, so check them out below. If you have anything you'd like to discuss,
our discussion and vote have been postponed until our March 5th OMG Meeting.
Our Oiler Music Guild Bylaws (nonprofit rules/guidelines) have gone through a bit of an upgrade and revision. We have corrected some info regarding program directors and added info regarding video meetings.

OMG Annual Banquet Planning - help plan our Awards Banquet!
Several Board Positions and Chair Positions will be available next school year and we need to get them filled! I know it seems like everything runs smoothly within the program (most of the time), but that is ONLY because of this year's INCREDIBLE Board!!!! That will NOT happen if we don't know fill these positions! Let us know how you can help!

Being on the board is a great opportunity to get involved and help all these talented students. If you know someone who would be a good fit, or if you want to be more involved in nominations, please reach out to our Parliamentarian, Linda Farrow.
We are looking for a Chairperson to organize the WGASC Color Guard Championships on April 12. Cielito will help mentor. Please email Cielito.

Additional Notes for Parents and Students-
- It’s festival week for Festival Orchestra! Busy week ahead, and please stay on top of work and ensembles! On Thursday, Festival Orchestra students should plan to bring lunch and a small snack for the day, as we have a long commute both ways for our performance that afternoon.
**Concert Attire Reminder**
Students in Festival Orchestra are required to be in performance attire for our Thursday, March 6th trip to Riverside City College to perform in festival adjudication. This concert attire is consistent from the handbook and “Sounds of the Season”, and is listed below. Students should either plan to attend school already in concert attire or plan to change at lunch time.
Option A - Suit or Tux
● Black tuxedo or suit (pants and jacket, no jeans)
● Pressed black dress shirt
● Black bow tie
● Black dress socks (no ankle socks)
● Black dress shoes (no Vans, Converse, or sneakers)
● Solid black belt (if required)
Option B - Dress
● Plain black, floor to mid-calf length gown with long or 3/4 sleeves
● Black hose
● Black dress shoes
● Solid black belt (if required)
Option C - Slacks or Skirt and Top
● Long or mid-calf black skirt or black dress slacks, with a black top having long or 3/4
sleeves
● Black hose and close-toed black dress shoes (two-inch heel or less)
● Solid black belt (if required)
In All Cases
● No excessive jewelry, no sequins or sparkles; hair accessories must be black, silver, or gold
● Pants, skirts, and dresses should be loose and flowing, nothing skin-tight
● No jeans
● Heels can be no higher than two inches
● Shoes must be ALL black- marching band Uniform shoes are ok
NOTE: These options are non-gender specific
Festival day Schedule:
12:00 p.m. - Students excused from classes (HBHS and Non-HBHS Festival Orchestra ONLY)
12:15 p.m. - Warm-up rehearsal (HBHS Band Room)
1:40 p.m. - Rehearsal concludes, load buses (HBHS)
2:00 p.m. - Depart HBHS for Coil School of the Arts (RCC)
4:00 p.m. - Arrive, unload buses, and observe performance (time permitting)
4:30 p.m. - Warm up
5:00 p.m. - Performance (Coil School of the Arts Performance Hall)
5:30 p.m. - Clinic (with guest clinicians)
6:00 p.m. - Clinic concludes, load buses
6:15 p.m. - Depart Coil School of the Arts (RCC)
7:45 p.m. (approx.) - Arrive at HBHS, Unload Buses, Dismissal
- In other news, we were lucky to accept an incredibly gracious donation from Sue Iverson for a gorgeous Grand Piano, which now has a home in the MPR classroom! We have a piano tuner scheduled for this weekend, and the piano will be a huge benefit to our piano and jazz programs at the school in the years to come.
○ RETURNING PARENTS & STUDENTS…
(1) Need to fill out the 25-26 acceptance agreement (signed by student and 1 parent and return to the APA office.)
(2) Parents need to mark their calendar for March 8th AND ALSO RSVP to attend this meeting so APA Council knows how much food to have.
○ APA HONOR CORD(Seniors only) and APA LETTER(Juniors & Seniors) application time! They are both due March 15th. There are 7 Student workshops. They are listed in the letter with a link/QR code to sign up with.
○ ALSO, THE APA OFFICE HAS COPIES OF THE ARTS LITERACY HONOR CORD, a District Honor Cord. This CORD will also be covered in the APA HONOR CORD WORKSHOPS.
○ APPLICATIONS for the APA Foundation Scholarship($500-$1000) as well as the EEFA Foundation Scholarship ($10,000) will be sent out by March 1st. They will be due April 29th
