Band & Color Guard Camp 2024
Welcome to the 2024-2025 Huntington Beach High School Oiler Band and Color Guard!

You are joining a vibrant organization with a proud tradition of excellence. The HBHS Marching Band and Color Guard performs at numerous football games, parades, field competitions and countless community events. This past year, our band performed in front of roughly 70,000 fans at a USC halftime show at the Coliseum!
Our Marching Band is perfect for any student interested in joining a fun-filled group that plays interesting and challenging music. It's the perfect way to meet new friends, and build lifelong skills, and join a community of dedicated peers.

Color Guard offers a fun and challenging environment. The team is planning to attend the WGI World Championships in Dayton, OH and they are already hard at work to make that happen!

Band & Color Guard Camp is two-weeks of practicing where students learn marching and playing fundamentals, start learning the competitive show, get fitted for uniforms, and bond with their fellow band members.
How to prepare for Band Camp
-
Be on time!
-
Band camp times are mandatory, and necessary for students to be placed in the competitive field show for the fall. There are a couple of school events that happen during our rehearsal times, and we can work around those.
-
-
Wear comfortable athletic clothing!
-
We will be stretching, exercising, and doing movement that require mobility. This includes appropriate footwear and socks.
-
-
Begin hydrating, eating right, and sleeping well now!
-
Students will benefit greatly from taking appropriate care of their bodies as soon as possible.
-
-
Bring lunch or stock up on Seacliff Gift Cards!
-
Students are responsible for their own lunches during band camp. Students can either bring their own lunch, or go to Seacliff for food. Often, sections will go over together as a group.
-
-
Don't forget the basics!
-
Students are highly encouraged to begin working again on their fundamentals now. For horn players, please start reviewing your fundamentals, especially long-tones.
-
What to bring to Band Camp
